Two things:
I'm thinking about starting to read some books biased on the Sith . Where would be the best place to start(Would it be the Darth Bane series?). I know some of you read a lot of the SW books so no better place to ask Very Happy

Also with the new Darth Revan book being released soon, there is a rumor that if the book revives good rating and sales there could be Darth Revan movie on the way. After all, with the release of episodes 1-6 on blue ray, and The clone wars cartoon coming to the end, what else is there for star wars?

Its a series only read 'Path of Destruction' but I'm getting 'Rule of two' and 'Dynasty of evil' as soon as possible. As PoD was awesome.

Shatterpoint by Matthew Stover was a good book, very dark for a SW book. Also Cloak of Deception by James Luceno was a good prequel to episode 1. Smile

For anyone wanting to get into the extended universe, Start off with the Dark Horse graphic novels, The 'Tales of the Jedi' omnibus Vol 1 +2 are brilliant and gives good insight on where the Sith originated from and shows the rising of Naga Sadow then Exar Kun.

Then read the Knights of the old Republic series, Good prelude to SWTOR.

As far as the novels go, The Darth Bane trilogy is a must, if you ever wanted to know where the rule of two originated He's the man!

The Old Republic novels have also been enjoyable and Revan when it's released should be good (written by the same guy who did the Darth Bane Trilogy).

Iv'e read pretty much every Graphic novel and book from Tales of the Jedi up to Revenge of the Sith,(just finished Knight Errant last night) so if anyone has some question about what is a good read I'd be more than happy to help!!

The best thing about the Darth Bane series is that neither Bane or Zannah are stereotypical "evil" and in it for the "lolz". The temptation and corruption of Zannah is fascinating to watch and a lot of Bane's philosophy makes sense on a cognitive level. It doesn't help that adult Zannah is often and repeatedly described as being stunningly attractive (the Sith eyes and pale skin accentuating her beauty etc etc).

ETA: When's the Revan story meant to drop? I thought October/November. Assuming they stick with the description of Revan from the first game (he was a well-meaning extremist) and don't "Prequelise" him like they did Vader. Revan should, IMO, be someone who is charismatic and dangerous, someone who after seeing the raping and pillaging of the Mandalorians thinks "well you lot need to toughen the proverbial up".

what else is there for star wars?

Apparently 400 hours of a Live Action TV series, 50 hours of scripts are already written but due to budgeting costs they are on hold for the time being.

I am not much of a reader but I am a little way through Fatal Alliance and enjoying it Smile

Anyone know how star wars originated? I mean did Lucas start off with just the movies in book form and then made them to movies? Then what happened, did people start writing before or after the movies first (if the movies were even the starting point).

Originally started out as a film. Plenty of rough drafts over many years until universal studios finally said he could do it in 71 along side American Graffiti but then had more drafts after that until Lucas' was happy with the story

Who knows what was in Lucas' head when he thought of it up haha

Hello all

I am an avid fan of audio books. I listen to them while designing at work.

Pretty much all the star wars books are available as high quality audio productions on demonoid.

Of course there may be some legality issues with this.. i just assume they are all free licenses.

Makes the work day go much faster.
